0 83

Mahindra has officially released the second video teaser in which the all-new Scorpio-N is fully revealed. In the video, Mahindra claims that the new Scorpio-N has the highest command seating position among all the SUVs in its speculated price range. The video has been released by Mahindra on all of its social media handles.

In the video, Mahindra has compared the Scorpio-N to the position of the head of the family on a dining table, in which it takes a centre stage while showcasing the commanding seating position of the SUV. Being a ladder-on-frame SUV, the Mahindra Scorpio-N has a tall seating posture, which will give a commanding view of the road, compared to the rest of the monocoque frame SUVs.

Apart from that, the video also shows the front and side profiles of the new Mahindra Scorpio-N, which were already shown in the previous teaser video. The SUV gets vertical chrome slats on the front grille, while the headlamp units come integrated with LED projector bulbs and dynamic LED turn indicators. The fog lamp housings are garnished with LED fog lamps and C-shaped daytime running LEDs.

2022 Scorpio-N is much bigger than before

Other details of the Mahindra Scorpio-N, which are visible in the video, include a front silver skid plate, side body moulding over wheel arches and diamond-cut alloy wheels. It also gets silver applique at the bottom of the door panels, chrome garnishes on the window waistline with a wraparound layout around the D-pillar and silver-coloured roof rails. However, this second teaser video also hasn’t given us a glimpse of the rear profile of the new Scorpio-N, which was not revealed in the previous teaser video.

The new Mahindra Scorpio-N will have a much more contemporary appeal over the current-generation Scorpio, which will continue to be sold alongside the former as Scorpio Classic. Like the new-generation Mahindra SUVs like Thar and XUV700, the new Scorpio-N will be offered with both petrol and diesel powertrains, with both engine options getting the transmission choices of 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter.

The new Scorpio-N will be sharing the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol and 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engines with the Thar and Scorpio. However, it is still not clear what will be the state of tune and power and torque outputs of these engines. The new Mahindra Scorpio-N will be positioned between the Scorpio Classic and the XUV700. It will compete with a host of similarly priced monocoque SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Nissan Kicks.
