The Maruti Suzuki Jimny has started reaching dealerships across the country, and we have started seeing walkaround videos of the Jimny SUV on the internet. Test drives for the Jimny SUV have not yet officially started, and drive reviews for the same are also not available online. However, we have come across a video where a customer managed to drive the all-new Suzuki Jimny in India and shared their views about the SUV.

The video has been uploaded by MRD Cars on their YouTube channel, and this is the first quick drive review video of Jimny that is currently available in the market. The vlogger had visited the dealership to book the Jimny. They mentioned that they were confused between the Jimny and Thar, and when they requested the dealership staff, they allowed them to take the car for a quick spin within the dealership premises, although they did not let them drive out of the dealership. It looks like the car was doing circles around the Nexa dealership. The vlogger can be heard saying at the beginning of the video that the car feels like a Gypsy.

The vlogger then explains that the Jimny feels very refined, and although the engine does not generate much power and torque, it did not feel underpowered. The engine felt very refined and peppy. The vlogger also mentions that the suspension on this SUV is very soft, resulting in a comfortable ride. The vlogger also mentions that the turning radius on the Jimny felt more than the Thar, and the body roll in the Jimny felt very less. They also mention that the instrument cluster on the Jimny reminded them of the Gypsy. It is unclear whether the vlogger who drove the Jimny in this video actually booked their Jimny or not. Maruti Suzuki had opened bookings for Jimny from the day it was unveiled at the Auto Expo. The manufacturer had already received over 30,000 bookings for Jimny, and they would be announcing the price for this SUV in the coming months.

It should be noted that we have not yet driven the SUV, and the opinions shared in this video are by the vlogger only. A detailed review video of the same would be published on our website and YouTube channel when media drives happen. However, it looks like the owner was very happy with the product. When compared to the Mahindra Thar, the Jimny is more practical, as it has rear doors that let people access the rear seats more easily. Higher variants of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny come with features like projector headlamps, automatic headlamps, headlamp washers, fog lamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, a multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, and so on.

The SUV is available in Kinetic Yellow with a Bluish-Black roof, Sizzling Red with a Bluish-Black roof, Sizzling Red, Granite Gray, Nexa Blue, Bluish-Black, and Pearl Arctic White shades. It is available in Zeta and Alpha variants. Both these variants will be offered with manual and 4-speed automatic transmission. Both these variants will be powered by the same K15B naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 100 Bhp and 130 Nm of peak torque. Both variants will be offered with 4×4 as a standard feature.
