Madonna seemingly stood in the doorway of her kitchen and performed a similar dance to Wednesday on Lady Gaga’s tune Bloody Mary. The song enjoyed a revitalization as it was featured in the Netflix hit series Wednesday starring Jenna Ortega. For the unversed, in episode four of the streaming series, Jenna’s character Wednesday is wearing a black gown as she does a wild dance to the song Goo Goo Muck by The Cramps at a school dance.
The dance Jenna did become viral on social media but with a different song than the one played in the film. Instead of Wednesday’s song, Lady Gaga’s Bloody Mary was used in videos widely shared on social media. And this led to the song, which was released in 2011, to enjoy a resurgence, despite not being played in the series.
In December 2022, Jenna Ortega revealed that her now-viral dance only took her two days to choreograph. Wednesday star also revealed some interesting detail about the dance. Jenna said that the director of came to her trailer about two days before they shot it and said, ‘Hey Jenna, so I know you said you wanted to choreograph this yourself.’
Ortega added, “I had not gone over it all. I was doing cello that week, fencing that week. I just didn’t have the time… Oh my God, I was kicking myself. I felt like such a fool.” Jenna added that she watched ‘just anything I could get my hands on’ to get some inspiration for what she should do for the dance. She continues, “I’m not a dancer. I don’t do any of that. I have no experience in that field. I didn’t sleep for two days. I watched videos of Siouxsie and the Banshees, Denis Lavant in Beau Travail.”
