2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza base-variant spotted

It looks like the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is just around the corner. According to sources, the authorized dealer outlets have started receiving the units of all new Brezza in their stockyards. We have got a glimpse of the base-spec variant of the new Maruti Suzuki Vitara, which has reached one of the dealer stockyards.

In the spy picture by TimesDrive, we can see a red-coloured Maruti Suzuki Brezza in an all-new avatar. Yes, the ‘Vitara’ prefix in the name of the sub-compact SUV has been dropped, and the new version will be just called ‘Brezza’. The SUV seen in the spy pictures seems to be the base-spec variant of the version, likely the LXI or VXI variant. This variant misses out on alloy wheels, dual-tone paint, silver skid plates, fog lamps, roof rails and fancy dual daytime running LEDs.

Instead, the variant of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza seen here gets black steel wheels. A closer inspection of the images indicates that this base-spec variant is also having a projector setup for the headlamp assemblies, assisted with turn indicators in their inner edges. This variant also has chunkier looking body cladding over wheel arches and lower part of door panels, body-coloured outside rearview mirrors with integrated turn indicators, blacked-out A-pillar and chrome garnish on the front grille.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza top-end variant spotted earlier

We have already seen the top-spec version of the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza in the spy pictures clicked during the advertorial shoot of the SUV. In the higher variants, the new Brezza gets fancier diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED projector headlamps with dual J-shaped daytime running LEDs, LED fog lamps, sleeker horizontal tail lamps with LED inserts, roof rails, shark fin antenna, dual-tone paint scheme and front silver skid plate.

The interior of the all-new Maruti Suzuki Brezza is not revealed in the spy pictures. Though, we are expecting the SUV to receive a set of new features like a free-standing larger Smartplay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system, head-up display, six airbags, paddle shifters for automatic variants, ventilated front seats and a sunroof.

The new Maruti Suzuki Brezza is expected to get the revised 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with Dualjet technology from the refreshed Ertiga and XL6. This retuned engine continues to be assisted with the carmaker’s Smart Hybrid system and now produces 103 PS of maximum power and 136.8 Nm of peak torque output. While the 5-speed manual gearbox will be the same as before, the 4-speed torque converter of the current version will be replaced with the new 6-speed torque converter from the new Ertiga.

Like now, the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza will pose a refreshed challenge to its direct rivals like the Tata Nexon, soon-to-be-launched Hyundai Venue facelift, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
