2024 Tata Tiago and Tigor iCNG AMT models launched in India at Rs 7.89 and Rs 8.84 lakh



Increasing its number of offerings in the CNG lineup of its cars, the country’s third-largest carmaker, Tata Motors, has launched the all-new Tata Tiago and Tigor iCNG AMT models in the country. The company has launched the Tiago iCNG AMT at Rs 7.89 lakh, and it has priced the Tigor iCNG AMT at Rs 8.84 lakh (ex-showroom). Both of these Tata siblings will come equipped with the brand’s innovative new dual-cylinder technology, in which the cars will get two individual cylinders packed underneath the luggage area in the boot.

Tata new iCNG models pricing

In terms of variants, the company will be offering the Tiago iCNG AMT in four variants. These variants are namely the XTA, XZA+, XZA+ Dual Tone, and XZA NRG. As for the pricing, the base XTA has been priced at Rs 7.89 lakh, XZA+ at Rs 8.79 lakh, XZA+ Dual Tone at Rs 8.89 lakh, and lastly the XTA NRG at Rs 8.79 lakh. Additionally, the company has also launched the Tigor iCNG in two variants – the XZA and XZA+ at Rs 8.84 and Rs 9.54 lakh respectively.

Tata Tiago and Tigor iCNG AMT details

Both of these new models come equipped with Tata’s innovative twin-cylinder technology. The company has developed this design in-house, and instead of adding one space-occupying cylinder, the company has placed two individual cylinders underneath the luggage areas of both Tiago and Tigor iCNG AMT models. Another major highlight of these newly launched models is that they now come with the convenience of an automated manual transmission (AMT).

In terms of the powertrain, both the Tiago and Tigor iCNG AMT models come equipped with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power of 72 BHP at 6,000 rpm and 95 Nm at 3,500 rpm in CNG mode. As mentioned above, it will now come mated with an engine, a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Apart from this, the cars will come standard with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Other highlights of these new iCNG models include a single Advanced ECU, which ensures effortless and jerk-free shifting between petrol and CNG modes and direct start in CNG mode. Apart from this, in terms of safety features, the cars come equipped with a micro switch to keep the car switched off during refueling, Thermal incident protection cuts off CNG supply in case of a thermal incident and a leak detection feature which immediately switches from CNG to petrol mode in case of a gas leak.
