All-New SUV Spy Pics, Exterior, Interior & Engine Details

The South Korean automotive giant, Kia Motors, is working on the development of an all-new SUV called the Clavis. Recently, a few spy pics of this forthcoming SUV have been spotted testing in South Korea. These sets of images provide a detailed look at the exterior and interior design of this upcoming vehicle. This particular model will boast a very boxy design and will become the brand’s most unique offering.

Kia Clavis Exterior Design

The leaked spy shots of the Kia Clavis have been shared on Instagram by Shorts Car on their page. From the recently shared images, it can be noted that the exterior design has been masked very well with the help of heavy camouflage. However, despite it, we can note that the Clavis will come equipped with a set of vertically-placed LED headlights. Apart from the front bonnet, as well as the overall front section, will have a very boxy appearance like the rest of the car. Most likely underneath the camouflage, there is a split headlamp design.

Moving on to the side profile of the car, we can note that the B-pillar has a unique design which separates the front and the rear almost like a station wagon. We can also observe pronounced roof rails and sleek flush door handles. The presence of unique dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels gives the Clavis a quirky appearance. The car also boasts some thick black claddings. Coming to the rear end, it can be seen that the car will continue the boxy design and feature very low positioned LED taillights on the rear bumper but also get a unique brake light on the extreme ends of the rear windshield.

Kia Clavis Interior

Apart from the exterior spy shots, pictures of the interior design of the Kia Clavis have also been shared online. Although not much of the dashboard can be seen due to heavy covers laid on top, it can still be noted that the SUV will come with a luxurious interior. Eagle-eye observers also noticed the presence of front and rear ventilated seats. The spy shots also reveal that the Clavis will come with a 360-degree camera and 12 parking sensors (6 on both ends).

One of the main highlights noted from the spy shots is the inclusion of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This advanced safety feature suggests that the Clavis SUV will offer a higher level of autonomous driving capabilities. Additionally, the car will also come equipped with a panoramic sunroof adding to the luxurious appeal of this unique SUV.

Kia Clavis Engine Options

As per the reports, the upcoming Kia Clavis SUV will be offered with both an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric powertrain. Now, while the details about the electric variants remain undisclosed, industry standards hint at an impressive range between 350 km to 400 km.

For the ICE models, it is believed that the company will be offering a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine which will be able to deliver 120 PS of maximum power and 172 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options might include a 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) and a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT). Similar to the Sonet, the Clavis will adopt a front-wheel-drive configuration, ensuring agility on the road.
