While the company has used the Microsoft Windows operating system for all the previous handheld gaming consoles, it has gone with Valve’s Linux-based SteamOS for this one. It’s the same platform that powers the Steam Deck. It makes the Ayaneo Next Lite the world’s first handheld gaming console that doesn’t come from Valve to use this OS.

The Next Lite features a 7-inch display with 1,280 x 800 pixels resolution. According to the company, the screen has a high brightness. However, it hasn’t revealed any number about that. The handheld gaming console features a 47Wh battery, hall-sensing joysticks, and X-axis linear vibration motors. The brand, unfortunately, hasn’t shed any light on the processor the Next Lite uses. Considering that the previous products from Ayaneo have used AMD chipsets, we expect this one to have one from the same brand.
