Samsung isn’t looking to change its habit of flooding some markets with multiple spin-offs of its budget and mid-range Galaxy A smartphones in 2024, as evident by the existence of the Galaxy F15 and the Galaxy M15.
The F15 will be a rebranded Galaxy A15 for Indian retailer Flipkart (the M15 will be sold on Amazon); its design and color choices were recently leaked online, and a benchmark entry for the device on the Geekbench website is now confirming some of its specs.
The Galaxy F15 is powered by the MediaTek 6100+, a 5G-enabled version of the Helio G99 chipset with two performance cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six low-power cores clocked at 2GHz. The benchmarked unit had 4GB of RAM, but the Galaxy A15 comes in 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM configurations and we can expect similar options for the F15.
The rest of the specs should match the A15 as well, though the battery should get a bump from 5,000 mAh to 6,000 mAh like the M15. Just don’t expect any changes in charging speeds (Samsung continues to use 25W charging for most phones) or a charger in the box.
The Galaxy A15 was one of the first phones that launched running Android 14 out of the box, but that will naturally not be the case for the F15 whenever it makes an official appearance. However, despite coming after the Galaxy S24, the F15 will likely run One UI 6.0 like its A series counterpart and get One UI 6.1.1 as a software update later.
Speaking of software updates, the Galaxy A15 is the cheapest Samsung smartphone that’s eligible for four generations of Android upgrades. Expect the same to be true for the Galaxy F15.
