Tata debuts sleek Curvv SUV at Bharat Mobility Expo 2024. Features futuristic design, EV variant, and multiple powertrain options.

Tata Motors revealed its latest offering, the Tata Curvv, on the inaugural day of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024.

This SUV, previously showcased in various development stages, is set to hit the markets in the upcoming months.

As Tata’s premier launch for the year, the Curvv SUV boasts a sleek design with a distinctive coupe-like roofline, setting it apart from its boxier competitors like the Creta, Seltos, Grand Vitara, and Hyryder, as reported by Autocar. Recent patent images hinted at its final design, which remains largely unchanged from its debut at the Auto Expo last year, with minor adjustments.

Notable updates include an extended LED light bar reminiscent of the Nexon facelift, a redesigned grille with a mix of piano black and body color finish, and revamped front and rear bumpers akin to the Harrier and Safari facelifts. The Curvv also introduces innovative features like flush door handles, a first for Tata models.

Under the hood, the Curvv will offer various powertrain options, starting with the Curvv EV, set to launch initially, giving it an edge over upcoming rivals like the Creta EV. Following the EV variant, Tata plans to roll out diesel and petrol versions, with the diesel variant likely to hit the market first, powered by Nexon’s 1.5-litre diesel engine.

Production of the Curvv EV is slated to commence in April at Tata Motors’ Ranjangaon plant, with an ambitious sales target of 48,000 units annually, including 12,000 units of the Curvv EV. With its eye-catching design and versatile powertrain options, the Tata Curvv is poised to make waves in the competitive SUV market.
