Chennai Airport: Domestic Flight Operations to Start on T4 Terminal From Nov 15

In a move to provide a big relief to the domestic flyers, the Chennai Airport authorities are all set to kickstart operations in Terminal 4. The newly renovated terminal, which used to handle passengers from international flights, now will handle the domestic flights, starting from November 15.

The decision has been taken by the airport authorities to give enough space to the domestic flyers. Officials say that the old international terminal was given a retouch and has been converted into a domestic terminal. All the international flight operations will be moved to the new integrated complex.

Chennai Airport T4 Trial

The airport authority has confirmed that the first trial at T4 will be marked by Air India on November 14. Later, the next day, the terminal will start handling the domestic operations flights on a daily basis.

Chennai Airport T4 Transformation

Some reports also revealed that all the Immigration counters at the T4 have been removed. The empty space now has been taken by conveyor belts, enhancing the room of comfort for the passengers. Official says it took almost four months to give terminal 4 a complete transformation.

Official says that the newly renovated T4 will allow the flyers to have a seamless travel experience, and will make every journey hassle-free.

Meanwhile, Chennai airport is considered one of the busiest airports in the country. The airport has handled more than 12.36 lakh domestic passengers in September. The number of flyers has increased by 13.8 percent as compared to the same month, last year.
