Danny Brown Releases ‘Jenn’s Terrific Vacation’ Music Video: Watch

The song will appear on his forthcoming album, Quaranta, out Friday, November 17

On his latest single “Jenn’s Terrific Vacation,” Danny Brown is feeling more than a little paranoid. Throughout the song, he attempts to get a grasp on the reality of his surroundings, which have proven to be quite disorienting. In the Noel Paul-directed accompanying music video, the space around him begins to revert to an original, empty form as he loses his grip on reality as he knows it.

“Jenn’s Terrific Vacation,” which features Kassa Overall, will appear on Brown’s forthcoming studio album Quaranta, set for release on Friday, Nov. 17. Bruiser Wolf and MIKE are his only other credited feature collaborators on the record.

The LP, and this particular trippy visual, comes in the aftermath of the time Brown spent in rehab where he addressed substance abuse problems related to alcohol and drugs. “I didn’t have any intentions of stopping smoking weed. I was just going to rehab for drinking. But once you get in there, you learn so much shit,” the musician recently told Rolling Stone.

The clarity that he emerged with pushed him to encapsulate his thoughts in song. “It was almost like, ‘I got to get it out,’” he added. “I didn’t know how long I was going to be living. It was one of those ‘I’m going to say what the fuck I want to say on this shit. I’m going to let everybody know how I’m feeling.’”

He described Quaranta as a chance to start over. “It’s almost like that was my way of just getting shit out,” Brown explained. “I was so fucking caught up in ‘Am I going to live tomorrow?’ It was almost like, if I died, this is what I have to say. That’s where I was at with it. This is all my shit.”
