Did Michael Keaton Wear Jordans in ‘Batman’ or ‘Batman Returns?’

From Batman’s alluring, grisly voice to the iconic cape and cowl that highlights his superheroic ensemble, there’s simply no denying that the incomparable crime-fighter is completely recognizable. What you might not have expected, however, is the possibility that Bruce Wayne himself could have donned a pair of Jordan sneakers at any point during his various film appearances. Of course, it would be difficult to imagine Christian Bale sporting a pair of Jordans while confronting Heath Ledger’s legendary Joker, but then again, stranger things have happened.

In reality, we’re speaking about Hollywood veteran Michael Keaton and his unforgettable run as the fan-favorite superhero. And after making a long-awaited return in 2023’s The Flash, sneakerheads have apparently become obsessed with digging back through history and wondering if Keaton ever wore Jordans while portraying Batman.

In the most exciting news one could learn, Michael Keaton did in fact wear Jordans while portraying Batman. In fact, Keaton specifically wore custom Air Jordan 6s in 1992’s Batman Returns — instead of wearing traditional leather boots. The popularity of Keaton’s custom-made Jordans eventually skyrocketed — which eventually led to one of the shoes selling for $8,100 on eBay a few years back.

With the MJ-inspired shoes skyrocketing to mainstream popularity back in the ‘80s, it hardly comes as a surprise that by the time the early ‘90s rolled around, the demand was as high as ever. Not to mention, it makes Batman look a lot more intimidating when his arch-enemies and foes figure out that he’s dressed to fight crime at 8 pm and head off to the basketball court by 9 pm to shoot some hoops.

Unfortunately, it’s likely that Keaton didn’t wear custom Jordans for his revival in The Flash, but that doesn’t discount the time that one of the coolest actors in the world sported a pair of Jordans while portraying one of the coolest superheroes ever.
