Toronto selected Kansas star Gradey Dick 13th overall on Thursday night and the scoring swingman said one of his goals off the court was to get to know the global recording sensation, who happens to be the team’s global ambassador and a frequent courtside visitor to games.

“Got to get out there, see Drake. I haven’t seen him a bunch, but I’m looking forward to that,” Dick told reporters in New York City about his plans.

He added on Twitter: “I just got drafted to y’all’s beautiful city. I cannot wait, it’s gonna be a lot of fun. And Drizzy, I’ll see you soon.”
Dick made a splash with his flashy, red Wizard of Oz tribute suit on draft night and it clearly caught Drake’s attention, too.
Dick also said he wants Drake to wear his jersey and that’s how he’ll know he’s made it.

But Step 1 was getting a follow on social media. The Raptors confirmed on Twitter that had happened early Friday morning with a tweet reading: “Secured the Drake follow.”
Dick was pleased with the news.
Maybe Drake will stop by in Las Vegas next month to see Dick and some of the other young Raptors take part in summer league.
