EA Canceled Single-Player Titanfall Or Apex Legends Game – Report

Electronic Arts has reportedly canceled a single-player game set in the Titanfall and Apex Legends universe. This comes after EA’s disappointing financial outlook for the current quarter.

According to Bloomberg, the unnamed and unannounced game was codenamed Titanfall Legends. It was reportedly directed by designer Mohammad Alavi until he left EA in early 2022. The game’s development team reportedly consisted of 50 people and EA is helping them find other roles within the company. However, those who aren’t given other roles will reportedly be laid off and given severance packages.

EA had notable announcements recently, such as delaying Star Wars: Jedi Survivor to April 28, as well as shutting down production on both Apex Legends Mobile and Battlefield Mobile.

While Apex Legends is much more popular than Titanfall, Respawn Entertainment wanted fans to know that Titanfall was still part of the developer’s identity, possibly hinting at some future announcements. Unfortunately, now it seems like it’ll be a while until any sort of new potential Titanfall game ever releases.

In GameSpot’s Titanfall 2 review, we said, “In many ways, Titanfall 2 feels like the game Respawn should have made in 2013. It’s a fantastic sequel. It’s a fluid shooter. It’s a spectacular game.”
