It was the first car manufactured in India and quickly became a status symbol for affluent families, as well as the preferred vehicle for politicians and government officials. Unfortunately, Hindustan Motors halted production of the Ambassador sedan in 2014. Nevertheless, the Ambassador continues to be a beloved car among collectors, and numerous well-maintained and creatively modified versions of this sedan can be found in different parts of the country. Currently, we have a meticulously restored and customized Hindustan Ambassador that exudes a premium appearance.
The video has been shared by muflih_mufi on their Instagram page. The video shows a neatly customized and restored Hindustan Ambassador Grand sedan that has a premium look. The exact story behind this particular Ambassador is not known; however, the caption states that the car was restored. The exterior has been completely transformed. The first notable feature of this sedan is its paint. The car has a deep blue paint finish that looks elegant. The stock front grille has been replaced with a custom-made unit. In the middle of the grille, there is a body-colored applique that gives it a muscular look.
The halogen headlamps have been replaced with aftermarket projector LED units that have ring-type dual-function DRLs. There are multiple LED DRLs in the front portion of the car. The turn indicator is placed right under the headlamp, and the stock bumper has been replaced. The current bumper on this Ambassador sedan looks like a custom-made unit and gives it a lowered stance. There are LED flashers on the lower part of the bumper. Moving to the side profile, you will notice the aftermarket wheels. These steel rims have a chrome-finished cover that gives them a stylish look. There is also a metal footstep and custom body graphics towards the rear of the car.

The door handles and window chrome have been retained. However, the ORVMs on this car are from a Maruti. Just like the front, the rear bumper of this sedan has also been redone. There is a chrome strip on the rear bumper, similar to the one on the front. The tail lights on this sedan retain the same shape as stock, but they now have LED lights. We can also see a large mudflap behind the rear wheels. It’s not just the exterior that has been customized in this case. The interior of this car has also been transformed. The dashboard has been painted with a wooden brown finish, while the AC vents remain black. The steering wheel also receives similar treatment, with a white-colored leather cover around it.
There is a floating-type touchscreen infotainment system, an aftermarket gear knob, a custom-made roof liner with lights, ambient lights, white-colored leatherette upholstery on the seats, wooden-finished panels on the doors, floor mats, illuminated scuff plates, and many more features. The fit and finish of the interior look good, and the work done on the exterior looks neat as well. With all these customizations in place, the car definitely looks premium.
