How to use Split Screen feature on Windows 11

Split-screen is a feature that allows you to use multiple apps at the same time. You can divide the screen of your Windows 11 PC or desktop into two or more parts using this feature. Each part of the screen can be used by the app that you want to open. This feature has been available in Windows for a long time, but the number of smaller screens were limited. Previously, dividing your screen into two parts was only possible if you wanted to use two apps at the same time. However, Windows 11 added new split-screen options that allow users to use more than two screens simultaneously.

With Windows 11, split-screen was renamed to snaps layout, and multiple screen setup was added. You can now set up to four screens and work on four apps at the same time. However, if you want to use this feature in Windows 11 you have to enable it. If you don’t enable it, you’ll be limited to using the dual-screen in a split-screen configuration.

1.

Open Settings on your Windows 11.

2.

Go to the System tab.

3.

Click on the Multitasking tab.

4.

Tap on Snap Windows. Enable it by toggling it on or off.

5.

Hover over the maximize button. You’ll now see a variety of snap layout options to choose from.

6.

Simply select one of the layouts and your screen will be rearranged accordingly.
