Hyundai Exter micro-SUV interior pictures leaked

The Indian subsidiary of South Korean automotive giant Hyundai, Hyundai Motor India, is set to disrupt the micro-SUV segment with the launch of its newest model, the Exter, which has been unveiled in the country. The company has showcased the exterior design of this micro-SUV and has also revealed its powertrain details. However, until recently, information about its interior was kept well-guarded. But, as expected, the internet has managed to find out what the interior of the forthcoming Exter will look like. The latest spy pictures of the Hyundai Exter reveal its interior design.

Carwale has shared a side shot of the interior of the upcoming Hyundai Exter, and from the picture, we can note that the micro-SUV will feature a dashboard layout that seems to be a hybrid of the Hyundai i20 and Kia Sonet, with a few unique details of its own. Firstly, the infotainment screen and the fully digital dashboard will be integrated into a single unit. The buttons for the infotainment system will be placed on both sides of the screen. Additionally, rectangular center air conditioning vents will be positioned below the screen. Although the picture does not show the air conditioning controls, we know that they will be present there.

Further observations of the interior spy pics reveal that the Exter will have the exact steering wheel from the previous generation of the Hyundai Venue sub-compact SUV. The steering wheel will include the usual volume and radio controls. The pictures also reveal that the car will be equipped with a cruise control system, and the controls for it will be on the right side of the steering wheel. Apart from this, as mentioned earlier, the Exter will have a fully digital instrument cluster and will offer multiple Indian language options as well.

The forthcoming Exter will be offered in 13 petrol variants. The list of these variants includes EX MT, S MT, S(O) MT, S AMT, SX MT, SX Dual Tone MT, SX AMT, SX Dual Tone AMT, SX(O), SX(O) AMT, SX(O) Connect, and SX(O) Connect AMT. Meanwhile, there will be 2 CNG variants: S MT and SX MT. The Hyundai Exter will be equipped with a 1.2-liter four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine as the sole powertrain option. This engine will be available with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options, delivering 83 bhp of power and 114 Nm of maximum torque. This is the same engine that Hyundai offers with other models like the Grand i10 Nios, Aura, and naturally-aspirated variants of the Venue.

Hyundai has also revealed that the Exter will come with 26 safety features across all variants and as an option in the entry-level E and S trims. The safety features of the forthcoming SUV will include ESC (Electronic Stability Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), HAC (Hill Assist Control), 3-Point Seat Belt & seatbelt reminder (all seats), ABS with EBD, Burglar Alarm (1st in Segment), and more. The Exter will also be the only car in the segment to offer features like a built-in dashboard camera and TPMS. Other advanced safety features include ISOFIX anchors, headlamp escort function, rear parking camera, and others.
