Hyundai is all set to introduce its second N-Line car in the Indian market, and this time it’s a compact SUV – the Venue N-Line. The Hyundai Venue N-Line will be launched on the 6th of September 2022, bang in the middle of the great Indian festive season – a time when car sales go through the roof. The Hyundai Venue N-Line with get a slew of cosmetic changes, possibly stiffer suspension and a revised exhaust system. These changes are similar to what the India-spec i20 N-Line received, when it was launched here a few months ago. The N-Line variant of the Venue will be based on the facelifted model that was launched recently.
The Hyundai Venue N-Line will use the tried and tested 1.0 liter-3 cylinder turbo petrol engine that’s also on offer on the regular trims of the compact SUV. This motor makes 118 Bhp of peak power and 172 Nm of peak torque, and is a spirited performer when revved up. A 7 speed twin clutch DCT automatic gearbox will be offered with the turbo petrol motor.

Hyundai is likely to stiffen the suspension to make the Venue N-Line a sharper handler while the exhaust will be revised for a raspier note. Given the fact that the facelifted Venue gets a softer suspension set-up, this leaves Hyundai enough room to bring in stiffer suspension for the N-Line trim. The steering is one area where the regular Venue feels a bit vague. A sharper steering would go a long way to reinforce the Venue N-Line sporty credentials.
Coming to other changes on the Venue N-Line, the front and rear bumpers will be revised, and are likely to gain red accents. The alloy wheels design is also likely to be different from that of the regular Venue. N-line badging on the outside is another visual change on the new variant. On the inside, red accents for the seats and other interior trims, and N-Line badging are likely.
The Venue N-Line will be available in two trims: N6 and N8. The higher trim will offer additional equipment such as an 8.0-inch touchscreen, connected car technology, electric driver’s seat, LED projector headlamps and a Bose sound system. The N6 variant will miss some of these features, and will be priced lower. The N-Line trims could be priced about Rs. 1 lakh higher than the regular trims.
As of May 2022, the Hyundai Venue has crossed 3 lakh unit sales in India is no.3 in the segment as of July 2022. The segment leader is the Tata Nexon, which has been going from strength to strength thanks to the steadily rising popularity of its electric variants, the Nexon EV and the EV Max. Maruti’s Brezza takes the second spot, and we have yet to see if the all new Brezza, launched last month, will overtake the Nexon in a month or two. The Venue sold a very respectable 12000 units in July to take the third spot. The Venue’s sibling from Kia, the Sonet, sold 7,215 units in July.
