Hyundai redesigns Kona Electric – Just Auto


Hyundai Motor launched the redesigned, second generation Kona Electric in South Korea as it builds presence in the global electric vehicle (EV) market.

The compact SUV will be launched overseas later this year.

The new EV is powered by a 65kWh battery pack with the Long Range model able to cover 417km (260 miles) on a single charge according to the certification standards of the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

Priced locally at between KRW46.5m and KRW49.7m (US$35,900-$38,300) before tax incentives, the latest Kona Electric comes packed with advanced features including wireless (over the air) software update capability, next generation Connected Car Navigation Cockpit, a head up display system and Remote Smart Parking Asist.

Safety features include an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) which helps maintain a safe distance from the car ahead and stay in the middle of the lane on highways, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCAI 2) and rear and side blind spot collision avoidance systems.
