It’s a Christmas Miracle! Bally Sports coming back to fuboTV

It sure is a Christmas Miracle. After Sinclair decided to remove its regional sports networks from all streaming services, Bally Sports is now on its way back to fuboTV in a deal announced on Wednesday.

The deal will bring back 19 regional sports networks from Bally Sports, in the coming weeks. There’s no set date just yet. But here are the channels that fuboTV will be gaining:

  • Bally Sports Arizona
  • Bally Sports Detroit
  • Bally Sports Florida
  • Bally Sports Great Lakes
  • Bally Sports Indiana
  • Bally Sports Kansas City
  • Bally Sports Midwest
  • Bally Sports New Orleans
  • Bally Sports North
  • Bally Sports Ohio
  • Bally Sports Oklahoma
  • Bally Sports San Diego
  • Bally Sports SoCal
  • Bally Sports South
  • Bally Sports Southeast
  • Bally Sports Southwest
  • Bally Sports Sun
  • Bally Sports West
  • Bally Sports Wisconsin

The best part? Bally Sports will be part of the base subscription, and the price won’t be going up. It’ll remain at $69.99 per month. However, don’t forget that fuboTV already charged a $8.99 per month RSN fee in the markets that had RSNs already. So it wouldn’t be surprising to see that added to your bill if you didn’t get RSNs already.

With Bally Sports looming bankruptcy, this makes lots of sense

In case you hadn’t heard, Bally Sports’ parent-company, Diamond Sports Group is likely going to be entering bankruptcy in the coming months. That shows how tough it can be to run regional sports networks. Sports are expensive, and that piles on when you are creating an entire network for a single market. Most of these markets are only in one State, so there’s not a whole lot of people that are going to be watching them to begin with. Not to mention, removing them from streaming services was a big mistake.

Now the real question is, what does this mean for Bally Sports+ and competitors like YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV? Could they be getting Bally Sports back on their air in the coming weeks after this fuboTV deal? It’s likely. Diamond Sports Group really needs to start bringing in some money, and Bally Sports+ can only bring in so much. Plus, it’s likely that not many people want to pay $20 per month for a couple of teams.

This is definitely good news for the streaming world.
