As you’d expect, Jonathan Majors‘ team have profusely professed his innocence ever since charges were first leveled against the Marvel Cinematic Universe star, but things took an interesting turn when he appeared via Zoom for a virtual court appearance.
While the Disney-owned comic book conglomerate has remained radio silent on Majors ever since the accusations first broke, it’s beginning to look increasingly likely that there’s going to be no other option but to sever ties with an actor that’s seen a fast-rising career screech to a halt ever since the allegations first emerged.
His lawyer Priya Chaudhry was in a bullish mood outside the courtroom when addressing the “witch hunt against Jonathan Majors, driven by baseless claims,” stating that “we have provided the District Attorney with irrefutable evidence that the woman is lying, including video proof showing nothing happened, especially not where she claimed,” but then went on to add that “we are hesitant to share it, for fear the DA will tip the woman off to change her story again.”
In essence, Majors’ team are once again reiterating they have ironclad proof that their client is innocent of any wrongdoing, but remain reticent to share it in a public form lest the goalposts be moved yet again by the woman at the center of the initial allegations, who they offer has already changed her story and may end up doing so again.
The Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is facing a class A misdemeanor, which carries a maximum possible sentence of 12 months behind bars, or a three- year probation term. Should he be formally charged, then it wouldn’t be a stretch to say his mainstream Hollywood career could be over for good, even if his next court date isn’t until June 13.
