Mahindra Scorpio-N SUV Vs Maruti Suzuki Invicto hybrid MPV in a drag race [Video]

Maruti Suzuki recently launched its most expensive offering, the premium MPV Invicto, in the country. The model, as we all know, is based on the Toyota Innova Hycross and features a hybrid powertrain. The new Invicto, as we also know, is an MPV and does not directly compete with SUVs. However, for some strange reason, a YouTuber had the idea to race this new MPV against one of the most popular full-size ladder-on-frame SUVs, the Mahindra Scorpio-N. Well, as weird as it may sound, the race was quite astonishing, and the winner was unexpected.

The video of the drag race between the Maruti Suzuki Invicto and the Mahindra Scorpio-N has been shared on YouTube by Her Garage on their channel. The video starts off with the presenter mentioning that she already knows that these two vehicles are poles apart and do not compete with each other in the market. However, they are doing this race just for fun. Following this, she mentions that the Mahindra Scorpio-N they have brought in for the race is equipped with the 2.2-liter diesel engine mated to an automatic transmission. It produces around 174 bhp and 380 Nm of torque.

Afterward, she mentions that the Maruti Suzuki Invicto comes equipped with a 2.0-liter petrol hybrid engine that produces around 186 bhp and 206 Nm of torque. She adds that the Invicto is also automatic. The presenter asks the owner of the Scorpio-N who, according to him, will win the drag race. He replies that most likely the Invicto will win the race as it is a petrol vehicle with the added advantage of a hybrid system. She also believes that the Maruti Suzuki Invicto will win this drag race.

Moving on, she mentions that for the first race, they put the Invicto in power mode, equivalent to the sports mode on other cars. Then she adds that they will turn off the traction control system and keep the air conditioner on in both vehicles. The presenter then explains that the Scorpio-N owner will keep the car in Zap mode instead of Zip because his Zoom mode is reducing the car’s power for some reason. Following this, they start the first drag race, and the Maruti Suzuki Invicto takes off from the line quickly and creates a massive gap against the Mahindra Scorpio-N.

For the second race, the presenter asks the owner of the Scorpio-N to try putting the SUV in Zoom mode while keeping the rest of the specs the same. In this race, the Scorpio-N starts off strong and keeps up with the Invicto, but the Invicto catches up and once again leaves the Scorpio-N behind. For the third round, the presenter asks the owner of the Scorpio-N to turn off the air conditioner while they keep it on in their car to give the Scorpio-N an advantage.

This time, with the new specs, the Scorpio-N takes a head start and leaves the Invicto behind for some time, but after reaching around 120 kmph, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto once again comes from behind and overtakes the Scorpio-N. Finally, for the last race, the presenter mentions that they will now turn off the air conditioner and put the car in drive mode for transmission and then race. In this race as well, the Scorpio-N takes a jump and leads the race for some time, but then the Invicto catches up and takes over the lead.
