Mahindra XUV300 SUV facelift to get major updates: Launch in February 2024

Mahindra is one of the major SUV manufacturers in India. The car manufacturer has several world-class products in its lineup. The XUV300 is the smallest SUV in its lineup and has been competing with giants like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, and Hyundai Venue in the segment. It is a highly competitive segment, and unlike other cars in this segment, the XUV300 has not received any major updates since its launch. Mahindra is finally planning to launch the updated version of the XUV300. The facelift version of the SUV will be launched in the market in February 2024.

The Mahindra XUV300 is expected to receive a major update in terms of design and features. Starting with the exterior, the upcoming Mahindra XUV300 is expected to get a completely redesigned front. The exterior design of the XUV300 is expected to be inspired by Mahindra’s Born Electric lineup (XUVE8/E9) SUV. The new range of electric cars from Mahindra is expected to go on sale in 2025.

The Mahindra XUV300 facelift is expected to get a new-looking LED DRL with a drop-down design. The headlights would also be redesigned, as would the bumper. The front grille is expected to be a split unit for an SUV-like look. The side profile of the SUV is expected to maintain the same design language as the current version. Mahindra might offer updated alloy wheels for the SUV. Coming to the rear, the SUV will offer a redesigned tailgate, bumper, and tail lamps.

The tail lamps are expected to be sleeker with C-shaped LED elements in them. Connecting LED bars are quite popular among recently launched cars and SUVs, and the upcoming XUV300 would also get one. The redesigned bumper and faux skid plate would also be included to give it a muscular look. Apart from the exterior changes, Mahindra will also be offering new features in the cabin too. As we all know, the Mahindra XUV300 was introduced with a cabin that looked dated. Mahindra even offered the dashboard design in the XUV400 EV. The XUV300 facelift is expected to offer a redesigned dashboard along with other features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a panoramic sunroof, which is a segment-first feature.

Unlike the Hyundai Venue and the upcoming Kia Sonet facelift, Mahindra is not expected to offer ADAS features with the SUV. The XUV300 will also skip on the 360-degree camera feature. Coming to the engine and transmission, the Mahindra XUV300 will continue to offer the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel, 1.2-litre turbo petrol, and 1.2-litre TGDI petrol engine options. The 1.2-litre TGDI engine that generates 131 PS is expected to come with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission from Aisin. This is the same transmission that does duty in Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun’s 1.0 TSI variant. The 1.5-litre diesel and the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine will continue to be offered with manual and AMT gearbox options. Mahindra will be launching the XUV300 facelift in February next year, and as per reports, Mahindra will also launch an electric version of the XUV300 that will be positioned below the XUV400. The electric version of the XUV300 will hit the Indian market in June 2024.
