The most premium offering from Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the hybrid MPV Invicto based on the Toyota Innova Hycross is scheduled to launch on July 5. However recently before its official launch a few cars have reached Maruti Suzuki dealerships and a picture of a fully undisguised Invicto sitting at a dealership’s yard has been leaked online. The pictures show the front, rear, and side of this hybrid MPV without any covering and we can note that apart from a few minor design changes the MPV will remain mostly the same as its Toyota counterpart.
The pictures of the forthcoming Maruti Suzuki Invicto have been shared on Twitter by Motorbeam. From the pictures, it can be noted that the hybrid MPV will mostly look the same as the Toyota Innova Hycross from the outside except for a few changes on the front side and rear. One of the most noticeable changes has been made to the front grille of the Invicto which will boast a grille similar to the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. It will get two chrome bars in the middle and in the center the Suzuki moniker will take the place of the Toyota moniker.
Apart from the grille the front bumper has also been tweaked a little to further enhance the differentiation between the two models. Moving on the sides one of the biggest differences between the two MPVs is the design of alloy wheels. The Maruti Suzuki Invicto gets a set of diamond cut alloy wheels which look eerily similar to the one’s that are offered in the Toyota Fortuner Legender. Moving on to the rear the MPV looks exactly like the Innova Hycross except for the fact that the taillights have been made more darker than the ones in the Hycross.

In terms of the interior currently there are pictures available for the interior of this forthcoming MPV however we can be sure that nothing will be changed across the dashboard and layout of the Invicto and it will mostly remain the same as the outgoing Innova Hycross. Most likely the Invicto will include features such as ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a full-TFT instrument console. According to previous reports, it has been stated that the Indo-Japanese automaker could exclude certain advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) elements or the entire package in order to keep the pricing in check.
As for the powertrain side of things, the higher-end variants of the Invicto are likely to feature a robust 183hp, 2.0-liter strong-hybrid powertrain, coupled with an e-CVT transmission, similar to the Innova Hycross. On the other hand, the entry-level trims are expected to be equipped with a 173hp, 2.0-liter petrol engine paired with a CVT, making the Invicto the first Maruti Suzuki model offered exclusively with an automatic transmission.
Talking about the pricing, it is believed that the petrol variants of the Invicto might be priced similarly to the outgoing Innova Hycross, which currently retails between Rs 18.55 lakh and Rs 19.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), while the hybrid range is priced between Rs 25.03 lakh and Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Meanwhile in terms of the competition, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto will fight in the premium MPV sector, especially against its Toyota counterpart, the Innova Hycross. It will also compete with the Kia Carnival, but at a somewhat higher price, ranging from Rs 30.99 lakh to Rs 35.49 lakh.
