Maruti Jimny 4×4 recovers Mahindra Thar 4×4 that got stuck while off-roading [ideo]

Mahindra Thar and Maruti Jimny are currently the most affordable 4×4 SUVs one can buy in the Indian market. While there are other offerings like the Force Gurkha, these two options remain popular among buyers. Jimny deliveries have recently started, and videos related to the SUV have already surfaced. We have already seen many modification videos of the Jimny, and some owners have even taken the SUV off-road. On our YouTube channel, we have a detailed off-road and on-road review video of the all-new Jimny. Additionally, we have a video where a Maruti Jimny rescues a Mahindra Thar 4×4 that got stuck while off-roading.

The video has been uploaded by BRH Expeditions on their YouTube channel. In this video, we see a Maruti Jimny Zeta variant, which is the lower variant that comes with 15-inch steel rims and halogen headlamps. It also lacks other features, including the headlamp washer. The vlogger and his friends were exploring an off-road trail using the Mahindra Thar and the Maruti Jimny. The Jimny appears to be brand new as there is no visible registration plate on it.

Both SUVs start exploring the trails, and both of them perform exceptionally well. Initially, neither of the SUVs engaged 4×4. They managed to climb a couple of steep sections without any issues. However, as they went deeper into the trail, the surface became much looser and trickier to drive on due to the mud. At one point, the driver of the Maruti Jimny approached a climb with 4H engaged. The wheel got stuck in the sand as the driver had to slow down to make a turn. However, the Jimny managed to get out of the situation without any help. Similarly, the Mahindra Thar also emerged successfully.

Jimny rescuing Thar

After driving on mud tracks, they reached a steep climb with loose mud and ruts. The Maruti Jimny was the first to attempt the climb. The driver engaged 4×4 and maintained momentum while climbing up. However, when the SUV reached the top, there was a sudden drop on the other side, which didn’t provide enough space for the front wheels to move forward. As a result, the Jimny got beached on the top. The vlogger instructed the driver to steer the vehicle left and right while attempting to go back. Due to its lightweight nature, the driver managed to free the Jimny without any external assistance.

After descending, the Jimny driver attempted the climb again and successfully cleared it. Next was the turn of the Mahindra Thar. The SUV also took the same track and almost cleared the stretch. However, just like the Jimny, the Thar got beached at the top. The vlogger and his friends tried pushing the SUV back, but their efforts were in vain. The Thar was stuck in the mud. After a couple more attempts, the vlogger decided to bring in the Maruti Jimny and use a tow rope to pull the Thar out. Fortunately, the group was equipped with recovery equipment, which proved to be advantageous. The rope was tied, and the Jimny successfully rescued the Mahindra Thar. The reason the Thar couldn’t free itself was due to its weight, as it is heavier compared to the Jimny. Later in the video, the Mahindra Thar can be seen climbing up the same stretch.
