There will be an SUV launched in almost every segment and there will be something for everyone. Jimny Five door

First and foremost, we will witness the official unveiling of one of the most anticipated SUVs on this list – the five door Jimny from the country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited. The Jimny five door will make its debut in the Auto Expo 2023 along with a ton of other Maruti Suzuki products. However the launch of this lifestyle off-roader will take place much later in the year.

YTB Baleno Cross

 

Second SUV or crossover on this list will also come from the house of Maruti Suzuki India Limited. This model has been spotted on multiple occasions in the country and will now be making its official debut in Auto Expo 2023. Recently a report emerged on the interweb which has suggested that MSIL could be naming this crossover Flash or Blaze in the country. Furthermore it could feature Suzuki’s proprietary AWD system.

Hector Facelift

The long awaited facelift of the British carmaker MG India’s Hector will also be making its debut in the Auto Expo 2023. The facelifted model will feature a competely resdesigned front fascia along with minor changes to the rear as well. According to MG the biggest change in the new 2023 Hector will be its interior where it will get an all-new dashboard layout and will feature a new infotainment system. It will also get ADAS as well.

Thar 1.5 L

Although Mahindra will not participating in the Auto Expo 2023, it will still be launching few new iterations of its immensely popular SUV Thar. Most likely the company will debut the more affordable 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel variant in January itself. The Thar 1.5 will come in a 4×2 configuration and will enable Mahindra to lure in more buyers.

Safari Facelift

 

To give a stiffer competition to the Mahindra’s new XUV 700, Tata Motors is planning to launch a new facelift of the new Safari in 2023. The model will most likely make its debut in middle of next year and will come equipped with ADAS safety tech. Additionally Tata is also developing a new petrol powertrain for Safari and its younger sibling Harrier and it too could make its debut in 2023.

Harrier Facelift

 

Tata along with the development of the Safari facelift is also working on the facelift of Harrier as well. Reportedly it will also come in same time as the Safari in mid 2023. Spyshots of the facelifted Tata Harrier have indicated that the SUV will get a blind spot camera and a 360 degree camera as well. It will most likely also get the ADAS safety tech as well.

Citroen C3 7 seater

The French carmaker Citroen is also reportedly working working on the development of a seven-seater compact SUV. According to a reports, this all-new compact SUV will be based on the brand’s CMP modular platform and will be rivaling the likes of the Renault Triber and more affordable trims of the highly popular Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens. Reportedly it will also come in a five-seater variant as well. This SUV will most likely also hit the market in the first half of next year.

Kia Seltos Facelift

The South Korean automaker Kia unveiled the facelift of its compact SUV Seltos internationally back in June of 2022 at the Busan Motor Show in Korea. Since then it has been reported that the company will most likely launch the model in India by the middle of next year. It could also debut the model in the 2023 Auto Expo as well. The Seltos facelift will get some decent aesthetic upgrades on both the exterior and the interior. It will also get a new 1.5 L turbo petrol powertrain along with ADAS features.

Hyundai Creta Facelift

Most likely along with the launch of the 2023 Kia Seltos, Hyundai will also be debut the facelift of its highly popular compact hatchback Creta as well. In terms of changes it will get a completely redesigned front fascia along with minor changes in the rear. The interior will mostly be the same although like the Seltos it will also get ADAS functionality. It will also get same 1.5 L turbocharged petrol mill that will come in the new Seltos.

Mahindra is also gearing upto launch the five door version of the Thar in January of next year to rival the forthcoming Maruti Suzuki Jimny five door. The five door Thar will evidently be bigger in proportions with the addition of two more doors, it will also have a longer wheelbase as well. However, the new SUV will get the same powertrain options as the outgoing model.

Force Gurkha 5-door

Force Motors is working on bringing up a new five-door version of its capable off-roader Gurkha. Currently available in a single three-door variant, which comes standard with a four-seater configuration, the Force Gurkha will be receiving a new five-door version. Reportedly the company is planning to launch this SUV in 2023, however as of now the exact launch date has not been announced.

Honda mid size SUV

The lack of an SUV in the Indian market has been hurting the Japanese multinational automaker Honda for quite some time. Although recently it was reported that the company is actively looking to introduce a compact SUV in the country. This new SUV will be based on the Amaze and WR-V platform and will most likely be launched in 2023.
