Maruti Swift Crashes into Parked Toyota Fortuner, Lifts SUV’s Rear in the Air

Accidents happen on the road almost everywhere in the world. In India, there are hundreds of accidents that are reports and many more that go unreported due to various reasons. In most cases the accidents happen because of driver’s carelessness or at times because of an unexpected situation of the road. Here we have a video where a Maruti Suzuki Swift crashed into a Toyota Fortuner and lifted the rear of the SUV in air. What makes this accident more interesting is that it did not happen on the road. The Suzuki crashed into a house and the Fortuner was parked on the porch of the house.

The video has been shared by Mediaone TV Live on their YouTube channel. The video shows footage from a CCTV camera placed in a building opposite to the house where the accident happened. in this video, we can see a Maruti Swift trying to join a road from a pocket road. The driver waited for the vehicles to pass before joining the road. The driver then slowly drove the car forward and turned the steering to his right. Till this point, everything was looking great.

However, it looks like the driver forgot about the steering once he joined the road. The car caught speed but, the driver probably forgot to correct the steering wheel. The car kept on turning to the right and before the driver realised that the car was out of control, it crashed into the gate of a house. The metal gates were closed but, Maruti Swift crashed through it and continued to go forward. It looks like the driver got panicked and he applied accelerator instead of brakes. This made things worse and the hatchback crashed into a Toyota Fortuner that was parked in the porch.

Swift crashed into Fortuner

The swift rear ended the Toyota Fortuner in such a manner that the rear of teh Toyota Fortuner was lifted in air. As seen in the video, the car driver did not miss the car and crashed right behind the expensive SUV. The accident happened in Malappuram district in Kerala and as per the report, the driver of the Maruti Swift escaped the accident without any injuries. The Swift driver actually escaped a major accident. If there was another vehicle coming from the opposite direction when this happened, things would have been different.

Both Fortuner and Swift have suffered damages in this accident. Maruti Swift is a small hatchback with a sloping bonnet design. This would have acted as a wedge when the car crashed behind the Fortuner and that resulted in lifting the Fortuner SUVs rear. Looking at the video the Maruti Swift looks fairly new as we can see the seats covered with the plastic that the car comes with. It is quite possible that the person driving the car learned how to drive recently and was not very confident of driving on the road. The driver was also lucky that there was no one inside the residential compound when the car crashed into the house.
