Mark Ronson and his mother-in-law Meryl Streep presented the award, bantering back and forth about what the Record of the Year award really means. Streep joked about being confused between the difference between Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year before Ronson broke it down for her. During her acceptance speech, Cyrus noted, “This award is amazing, but I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday.” She continued, “Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy but everyone in this world is spectacular. So, please don’t think that this is important, even though it’s very important.”
After thanking her team and family, the singer-songwriter signed off with a very Miley quip: “Thank you all so much. I don’t think I forgot anyone. But I might have forgotten underwear. Bye!”
