Minecraft Legends is a new Minecraft game developed by Mojang Studios and Blackbird Interactive, available on various platforms such as Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5|4, Steam, Windows 11|10, PC Game Pass, Xbox Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. It can also be played on select Samsung Smart TVs in the Gaming Hub without a console.
In Minecraft Legends, players take on the role of a brave hero who must unite the inhabitants of the Overworld to fight off a piglin invasion. Nether portals have appeared all over the peaceful Overworld, bringing piglins and spreading netherrack, and players must lead the charge to destroy them and save the world. Unlike the original Minecraft, in Minecraft Legends, players will be leading allies who will fight alongside them instead of doing all the fighting themselves. Different allies have different strengths and weaknesses, and players must use their abilities wisely in battle.
In addition to leading allies in battle, players must also manage resources, explore the Overworld to meet new friends and discover resources and treasure, and build defensive and offensive structures. Each playthrough generates a unique map, providing a new experience with every campaign.
Minecraft Legends has different play modes, including campaign mode, where players can play solo or in co-op with up to three friends to experience the story, and PvP mode, where players can face off against each other in intense matches. Resources are shared in co-op mode, but each player has allies to gather and build with. PvP mode requires players to protect their base while developing strategies to destroy their enemy’s base.
After completing the campaign, players can also participate in monthly challenges called Lost Legends, downloadable content that provides unique scenarios to test players’ skills. Lost Legends can also be played in co-op mode with up to three friends, and winning a challenge rewards players with exclusive cosmetic rewards.
Minecraft Legends is available in two editions: the Standard Edition for $39.99 and the Deluxe Edition for $49.99, which includes the base game and a Deluxe Skin pack with hero skins and mount skins. Additional mount skins may be available in the future.
