New spyshots reveal fresh details

One of the most popular SUVs from Tata Motors, the Nexon, which also happens to be one of the most popular sub-compact SUVs in the country, is about to receive a new facelift in the coming months. Over the past few weeks, we have been receiving new information on the vehicle, and various test mules of the SUV have been spotted across the country as well. Most recently, another test mule of the facelifted Nexon was spotted testing, and this one reveals a few more key details of the SUV.

From the latest spy shots of the vehicle, it can be noted that the upcoming car will have a much sharper and more aggressive look than the outgoing model. Tata Motors will give the forthcoming Nexon the signature split LED headlights and DRL design on the front to align it with the other SUVs offered in its lineup. Most likely, the design will be inspired by the Tata Curvv coupe SUV unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo. The new Nexon will also have a revised front bumper.

On the side profile, it is anticipated that not much will be changed, as it will continue to boast the existing model’s profile. However, one thing that will surely change is its alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, the latest spy shots reveal that the SUV will have a much more aggressive rear end with sleeker LED taillamps, which will most likely be connected from one end to the other via an LED strip. The rear bumper will also be tweaked to make it look sharper and more aggressive.

One of the biggest changes in the Nexon Facelift will be the interior of the model. The forthcoming SUV will have a brand new dashboard layout, and it will also get new upholstery. It will most likely feature a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which we have seen on the upgraded Harrier and Safari. A new TFT instrument console and ADAS features in top-spec models are further interior improvements that will likely be included in the SUV. In the latest test mule, a dual-spoke steering inspired by the Tata Curvv was also seen.

As of yet, no concrete information has been revealed about the drivetrain of this forthcoming SUV, but it has been reported that the updated Tata Nexon could get a new 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, previewed at the Auto Expo 2023. The new engine claims a maximum power output of 125 bhp and 225 Nm, 5 bhp and 55 Nm more than the current engine’s claimed performance numbers.

In addition to the proposed 6-speed DCT, this new petrol engine will also be offered with a 6-speed manual, similar to the current version of the SUV. Furthermore, the 2023 Tata Nexon will continue to offer the 1.5-liter 110 horsepower diesel engine as the second available powerplant, despite most compact cars and SUVs avoiding diesel options.
