Old video of Shah Rukh Khan driving his Mitsubishi Pajero

Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan is someone who needs no introduction. Shah Rukh Khan is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood industry and is also known as King Khan. He has delivered several superhit movies in the past and other than this, the actor is also known for his love for expensive cars. Over the years, the actor has owned several cars and SUVs in his garage. He is also the brand ambassador for the South Korean brand Hyundai in India. There are several videos of Shah Rukh Khan in his expensive cars available on the internet. However, here we have a very rare video of him driving a Mitsubishi Pajero that he once owned.

The video has been uploaded by WildFilmsIndia on their YouTube channel. The video is quite old and Shah Rukh Khan looks very young in this video. The video was probably recorded in the late nineties. The actor is seen having a conversation with people and it looks like that was probably at the set of one of his movies. People can be heard asking for autographs as selfie was not a thing back then. The Mitsubishi Pajero seen here in the video is a pre-facelift version of the second generation model. The Red coloured SUV looks extremely good and has a rugged look. The actor talks to the press and then drives off in his Mitsubishi Pajero SUV.

The SUV came with Silver cladding which was looking great on it. As this was early 90s, the SUV also had a large metal bullbar installed at the front. The version of Mitsubishi Pajero seen here was imported fdirectly from Japan. This version was replaced with the facelifted version a few years after this. The facelifted version of the Pajero was assembled here in India at Mitsubishi’s Thiruvallur plant in Tamil Nadu. The SUV seen here in the video does not look like the facelift.

Mitsubishi Pajero was an SUV which was popular among many prominent personalities. The rugged look of the SUV attracted lot of buyers and it also had a massive road presence. Even today, there are people who still own a Mitsubishi Pajero. It was launched in India as a proper 4×4 SUV. It was a massive looking SUV and offered large amount of space inside. When compared to other cars in the segment. the Pajero did not offer a lot in terms of features and creature comfort. The main focus with this SUV was off-road capability. We still have several videos of Pajero that shows how capable the SUV is off-road.

The Pajero was offered in India with a 2.8 litre, diesel engine that generates 120 Bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque. 4×4 was offered as a standard feature with the SUV. The Pajero was discontinued internationally in 1999 but, Indian market got it till 2012 as Pajero SFX. This version got a BS4 compliant engine and unique dual-tone paint job along with some added features. However, with rising competition and no new products from Mitsubishi, Pajero could not do much for the brand in India.
