Ovespeeding biker with pillion crashes into a bus taking turn at intesection: Caught on camera

The condition of roads in India is improving; however, one thing that still needs a lot of work is the driving or riding culture. We often see impatient drivers and riders on the road who do not follow lane discipline, traffic signals, or even respect other road users. We have come across several such incidents from different parts of the country in the past. In some cases, such irresponsible behavior leads to accidents and even death. Here, we have a video where a speeding biker riding with a pillion failed to notice a bus making a turn and crashed into it.

The video has been shared by Times Now on their Instagram page. The video is from Karnataka, where a group of bikers was going on a weekend trip. The accident happened somewhere in Kunigal, Tumakuru district. The video of this accident was recorded by another biker who was part of the group. We can see the bikers riding on fairly empty roads. As the road was empty, the riders probably thought of riding fast, and that’s where things went south.

The biker recording the video was in the left lane, while the other biker with a pillion was on the overtaking lane close to the metal barriers on the median. The biker on the left lane saw a state transport corporation bus coming from the opposite direction and taking a turn at an intersection. The first biker managed to slow down; however, the biker on the overtaking lane failed to see the bus as his vision was obstructed by the metal barriers on his right. The biker was definitely riding fast, and by the time he saw the bus, it was too late.

The biker did apply brakes; however, because of the high speed that he was carrying, he could not do much. The bike went ahead and crashed right between the rear wheels and the rear footboard. We can see the fairing and other plastic panels from the biker shatter upon impact, and the rider along with the pillion was thrown away from the bike.

Rider crashes into bus

It should be noted that the biker and the pillion were wearing proper riding gear at the time of the accident. The riding gear completely helped them in this accident, and as per the report, the rider and pillion were saved with minor injuries. If you look carefully, the biker was riding at high speed, and at this speed, if he had missed any of the safety gear like a helmet or jacket, he would have been in deep trouble. It was a major accident, and the chances of the rider and pillion getting seriously injured were pretty high.

We are not saying that the bus driver is not at fault here. Even he took the turn without checking for vehicles from the other direction. The major cause of this accident is the careless and overspeeding biker. The biker should have been a lot more careful, and we have written several times in our articles that public roads are for everyone, and it is not a place to race or do stunts. Always follow rules while on the road. If you really want to ride fast, go to a race track near you so that you do not create any problems for other road users in case of a crash.
