Persistent Systems has appointed four new executives to its top leadership as it aims to scale up its digital business operations after doubling its revenue to surpass $1 billion in March 2023.

The Pune-based firm has hired former Wells Fargo executive Sumit Arora as senior vice president to help it set up and drive the consulting practice.

Ayon Banerjee from Boston Consulting Group has joined as chief strategy and growth officer to spearhead non-linear growth, encompassing mergers and acquisitions, investments, growth through private equity channels and large deals, fuelling Persistent Systems’ next phase of expansion.

Former Tech Mahindra executive Dhanashree Bhat has been inducted as chief operating Officer (COO) to lead IT, administration and facilities, learning and Development, enterprise risk management, ESG (environmental, social and governance) and delivery divisions. Bhat will help strengthen operations and service delivery, the company said.

Persistent Systems also brought in Rajiv Sodhi, former COO at Microsoft India and CEO of GoDaddy India, last quarter to join as senior vice president, hyperscaler business and strategic alliances.

“These leaders bring in unique skills to contribute to unlocking the full potential of the company’s client impact,” the company said in a statement.

“As we entered this year, we proudly crossed the $1 billion milestone, a testament to our unwavering client focus, strategic technology investments and exceptional leadership. The addition of four outstanding leaders further strengthens our team, enhancing our commitment to clients, partners, shareholders, and employees,” said Sandeep Kalra, CEO, Persistent Systems.The company reported a 17.7% year-on-year revenue growth to Rs 2,448 crore for the second quarter of this financial year, while profit increased 19.6% year-on-year to Rs 263.2 crore.

Sequentially, revenue increased 3.9% while profit went up 15.08%.

For the July-September period, the company also reported its highest-ever deal win at a total contract value of $475 million, a significant jump from $380 million in the previous quarter.

With around 22,800 employees located in 21 countries, Persistent Systems claims to have grown about 268% since 2020 with a compound annual growth rate of 27% over the past three years.

A week ago, the company was included in three market indices: the MSCI India Index, S&P BSE 100 and S&P BSE SENSEX Next 50.
