According to the spotter, the actor was seen riding the electric bike in Mumbai’s Bandra area. It is one of the posh areas in Mumbai. The electric bike that Ranbir is seen riding in the video is a Mate X electric bike. This is probably the first time, Ranbir is getting spotted with this electric bike.

In the video, the actor is seen getting on the electric bike and pedalling it outside the construction site. Once, he is on the road, he stops pedalling and uses the battery power to ride the cycle. The Mate X electric bike is actually available in three versions. The difference in all three variants is the battery pack. One more thing that makes Mate X electric scooters unique is that they can be easily folded. The video mentions that the bike is worth Rs 1.5 lakh and in that case, it is probably going to be the 750W version which offers a maximum range of 80 km. The top-speed of these bikes are limited to 32 kmph and it offers a thumb throttle which engages kicks in the electric motor mounted on the rear wheels.
This is probably the first time, we have seen a Bollywood celebrity on a electric bike. Ranbir, as we mentioned above is generally not seen around two wheelers. He is mostly associated with cars. The actor was recently blessed with a baby girl and various reports about Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor has been surfacing online since then. Coming back to the electric bike, Mate X bike is made by a company from Copenhagen, Denmark and is priced at around Rs 1.50 lakh. The bike gets other features like disc brakes, LCD display on the handle bar that shows necessary information like battery usage and range. the design of the electric bike is quite different from what we normally see in Indian market.
