Rihanna Reportedly Claps Back at Criticism for Calling Son ‘So Fine’

Rihanna is taking the gloves off to defend her comment about her 9-month-old son.

On Wednesday, the singer took to Instagram to share photos from her British Vogue cover shoot with her, ASAP Rocky, and their son. For one of the photos, Rihanna captioned the moment, “My son so fine! Idc idc idc!”

In the comments section, some users criticized the Fenty Beauty CEO for her caption. “Who calls a baby fine?” one follower questioned.

It didn’t take long before Rihanna evidently clapped back. “His mother!!!” she reportedly wrote, per screenshots from the Neighborhood Talk and other social media accounts. RiRi also responded to another user who suggested she should’ve used another word to describe her son.

“You just keep your lil cougar paws away from him and we good!” she snapped.

For her British Vogue cover story, Rihanna spoke candidly about motherhood. The interview was released after her instantly iconic performance at Apple Music’s Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show, where she unveiled her growing pregnancy bump.

“Oh, my God, it’s legendary,” the soon-to-be mom of two said about being a parent. “It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever. You literally try to remember it—and there are photos of my life before—but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far, because it doesn’t matter.”

Rihanna also revealed that she wants to drop an album this year. She described the “toxic” pressure she puts on herself to top her critically acclaimed LP Anti. “It is toxic,” she confessed. “It’s not the right way to look at music because music is an outlet and a space to create, and you can create whatever.
