Samsung recently expanded its foldable device portfolio with the launch of Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4 smartphones at an event held in August. Along with the new foldable devices, the South-Korean tech giant also launched the Galaxy Watch 5 series and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro wireless earbuds at the same event. Now, the company is preparing for its next generation of flagship smartphones — the Samsung Galaxy S23 series –which is tipped to launch on February 2023. Samsung launched its last premium smartphone series — the Galaxy S22 series — in February 2022.
The company is expected to launch three new smartphones under the Samsung Galaxy S23 series which will include — the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The company seems to be on track with the early next year release window as the battery that is likely to be used for the Galaxy S23+ has already been listed in a certification database. According to a report by SamMobile, Safety Korea, a South Korean battery certification agency has already approved the battery that will be used for the Galaxy S23+ smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S23+ battery details tipped online
As per the report, the upcoming Galaxy S23+ smartphone (model number SM-S916B) will use the battery that comes with the model number — EB-BS916ABY. Also, this battery is manufactured by China’s ATL (Ningde Amperex Technology Limited), the company that also made batteries for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Fold 4.
The report didn’t share the exact battery capacity that will be available on the upcoming phones but suggested that the company might not change it much. Samsung expects that the power efficiency improvements of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and the OLED panel could be enough to improve the battery life.
