At CES (Consumer Electronics Show), Samsung usually unveils its new TVs, soundbars, and other audio-video products. During CES 2024, the South Korean firm will likely showcase its new QD-OLED-based Odyssey series gaming monitors. Samsung Display announced its plans on the Chinese social microblogging website Weibo.

Samsung’s QD-OLED gaming monitors for 2024 feature a 360Hz refresh rate

Samsung Display unveiled that it will announce two new QD-OLED gaming monitors during the CES 2024 expo in Las Vegas, USA. One QD-OLED monitor will feature a 27-inch screen with QHD resolution and 110ppi pixel density, while the other will have a 31.5-inch screen with 4K resolution, 140ppi pixel density, and a 360Hz native refresh rate. This is the industry’s highest refresh rate in the OLED monitor segment. Both monitors have reportedly been in the mass production phase, and they could be launched a few weeks after the announcement.

The South Korean firm said that it is utilizing ultra-precision inkjet printing technology to create 4K QD-OLED panels for gaming monitors. The company plans to triple its QD-OLED display shipments in 2024 compared to last year. It plans to achieve that by expanding its product portfolio and by acquiring new clients (Samsung Display sells QD-OLED panels to other monitor brands like Dell and Alienware).

Other specifications of Samsung’s upcoming QD-OLED gaming monitors weren’t revealed, but we expect them to have top-notch specifications. Higher-end models may have features like HDMI 2.1 and USB Type-C ports, wireless connectivity, and the Tizen operating system to use media streaming apps.
