sap labs: SAP Labs India commences construction of second Bengaluru campus, to add 15,000 jobs


SAP Labs India today commenced the construction of its second campus in Bengaluru in Devanahalli through a groundbreaking ceremony. The new campus will span 41.07 acres and accommodate 15,000 people while zeroing in on sustainability, wellness, and inclusion.

“This campus in Devanahalli, North Bangalore will be a reflection of SAP’s vision towards minimizing environmental impact and is designed to be net zero, water positive, and carbon neutral in operations. The first phase of the facility is expected to be operational by 2025,” said Sindhu Gangadharan, manging director and senior vice president of SAP Labs speaking at the ceremony.

SAP’s largest research and development hub globally is situated in Bangalore, and it contributes to 40% of SAP’s global R&D. The company, in an interview with ET in June last year said it had around 14,000 employees in India across five locations: Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Gurgaon and Mumbai. Earlier this year, ET had reported that the arm had laid off around 300 staffers mainly affecting its employees in Bengaluru and Gurgaon.
