Singer Parmish Verma gifts mom a Jeep Grand Cherokee upon her retirement [Video]

Punjabi Singer Parmish Verma has chosen the Jeep Grand Cherokee for his mother. The singer gifted the luxury SUV to his mother on her retirement day. The Grand Cherokee price starts at Rs 90 lakh, on-road in India. But we are not sure about the variant that he bought for his mother.

Last year, Jeep launched the new fifth-generation model of the Grand Cherokee in India. Unlike the previous generation that was imported as a fully built unit, Jeep is now locally assembling its new flagship SUV in India. This makes India the first market outside of North America where the Grand Cherokee is being assembled.

The design of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee takes inspiration from the larger Grand Wagoneer sold abroad, showcasing the typical Jeep family look. While the design has evolved with modern details, it still retains the essence of a Grand Cherokee.

At the front, the new Grand Cherokee features the traditional seven-slat grille accompanied by sleek LED headlamps and a protruding bumper with wide side and central air intakes. The two-box profile displays a prominent belt line that runs from the headlamps to the tail lamps, squared wheel arches, and a roof with a blacked-out portion in the C-pillar, creating a floating effect.

Inside the cabin, the new-gen Grand Cherokee showcases multiple screens, a common trend in modern interiors. The central 10.1-inch touchscreen seamlessly blends with the HVAC controls stack below, which retains physical buttons and dials.

In terms of features, the flagship SUV comes packed with a configurable 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch head-up display, a wireless charging pad, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, rear seat entertainment screens, a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and a powered tailgate.

The new model is equipped with only a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. This engine delivers a power output of 272hp and peak torque of 400Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard. The power is sent to all four wheels via a four-wheel drive system.

Parmish Verma owns a slew of high-end cars

Varma is known to live an extravagant life. His car collection consists of cars like Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, Mercedes-Maybach S650, and Mercedes-Maybach GLS600. Varma also owns a Jeep but his is an off-road focussed Wrangler. The most expensive car in his garage though is a customised Rolls Royce Wraith with red interiors. He also has a Tata Safari in his garage and he bought the car with a nostalgic feeling. He shared the picture of his old-generation Tata Safari, which got discontinued a few years ago.
