Start-up founder and MG Hector mid-size SUV owner complains about airbags not opening after massive crash



Explaining a harrowing accident, a start-up’s founder complained about how his MG Hector’s airbags did not open. The crash happened between the Hector and an electric pole, which caused the entire front end to collapse.

The MG Hector hit the electric pole at a high speed causing the SUV to roll over to its side. The accident also damaged the sunroof, roof and the vehicle’s window frame. The occupants, however, came out safely of the vehicle without any injuries.

The owner of the MG Hector shared on LinkedIn how the accident happened. He shared in a post with pictures saying, “I am reaching out to you with a major security concern I discovered while experiencing near to death accident. The vehicle hit a cemented electric pole and was damaged. Frontal head-on collision. My entire bonnet was destroyed in the accident. Vehicle turned on one side. Damaged sunroof, damaged head roof Damaged window frame We safe because of Gods grace & safety belts fastened.”

When the car was taken to the service centre, the authorities told the owner that the airbags did not open because the electric pole did not hit the trigger point of the vehicle.

This was the top-end MG Hector that comes with six airbags and none of them were deployed. The owner also claimed that the airbags had a glitch and that is why they did not open. The car is the top-end MG Hector Plus petrol variant.
