Sunroof, Design Overhaul, Engine Details

Maruti Suzuki India Limited is gearing up for the launch of the new 4th generation Swift and its sedan counterpart, Dzire, in India. Both of these vehicles will be getting a major design overhaul on the outside and the inside. What’s even more interesting is that the company will be offering them with a number of premium features. Recently, it has been reported that Maruti Suzuki will be offering the Dzire sub-compact sedan with an electric sunroof.

Maruti Dzire Fourth Generation to Get a Sunroof

According to Rushlane, one of their anonymous sources has stated that the new fourth-generation Dzire will be getting a single-pane electric sunroof. It is believed that the company will only be offering this feature with the ZXI+ variant, which is the top-of-the-line variant of this sedan. However, we will have to wait to see if any other variant gets this creature comfort feature or not.

The fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire will become the first and only sub-compact sedan in its segment to offer a sunroof. At the moment, its competition, which includes the likes of the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor, do not offer a sunroof in any of their variants. As we all know, over the last few years, sunroofs have become an extremely sought-after feature, and a number of carmakers are now offering this feature even on their lower trim variants to increase their appeal.

Will the New Swift Also Get a Sunroof?

Now at the moment, no sources have reported whether the new fourth generation Swift will come with a sunroof or not. However, it makes sense to assume that the company could offer its most popular hatchback with this lucrative feature. Currently, the Swift is the best-selling hatchback in India, and a number of buyers are anticipating the launch of the new model slated for later this year.

Maruti Dzire Fourth Generation: Details

Apart from the sunroof, a number of things will be new on the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. Just like the Swift, the Dzire is also one of the most popular vehicles in the Maruti Suzuki lineup, and it will be getting a major design overhaul. On the outside, at the front, the new Dzire will feature a similar fascia as the new Swift. It will get a wide front grille with tapered edges and angular headlamps. The new LED headlights will also feature sleek-looking L-shaped daytime running LEDs. The side profile will also receive a host of updates, including a brand-new set of alloy wheels. Additionally, the rear will also get newly designed LED taillights and a new rear bumper.

Maruti Dzire Engine Details

At the moment, the company has not revealed the engine specifications for the fourth-generation Dzire. However, the company has launched the fourth generation Swift in Japan, which gives us an idea of what could be coming with the new Swift and Dzire in India. The newly launched Swift in the Japanese market was showcased with a brand new engine, which is a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine known as the Z12E, belonging to Suzuki’s Z Series of engines.

As per the company, it generates a maximum power of 82 bhp at 5,700 rpm and 108 Nm of peak torque at 4,500 rpm. Suzuki in Japan is offering the new hatchback with a CVT gearbox and a mild-hybrid variant that enhances performance with an additional 3.1 bhp and 60 Nm of torque from a DC synchronous motor. The most intriguing part about this hybrid setup is that it offers a mileage of 24.5 kmpl. It is believed that this same engine could be making its way to the Indian market and power the new Swift as well as the Dzire.
