But by strict definition, a mutant is defined by their genetic code and the existence of the so-called “X-gene.” While Nova may be an astral twin of Charles Xavier, she has no real physical form of her own, relying on host bodies and genetic copies to live in the physical world — so she has no genetic code of her own.
