Tiffany Haddish Says She’ll ‘Get Help’ After DUI Arrest

The comedian promised that such an incident “will never happen again”

Tiffany Haddish said she will “get help” after being arrested and cited last Friday for allegedly driving under the influence in Beverly Hills, California.

In a new interview with ET, Haddish said she wanted to seek help “so I can learn balance and boundaries.” She added that such an incident “will never happen again,” and also thanked the Beverly Hills Police Department for the way they handled her arrest.

Early Friday morning, the BHPD said officers responded to calls of a person blocking the road, and possibly slumped over the wheel. Haddish, in her new interview, seemed to acknowledge that she had fallen asleep at the wheel, saying her Tesla had parked itself when she fell asleep, though it did so while blocking the road.

When responding officers arrived and found Haddish, they conducted a DUI investigation and arrested her. Haddish was booked and released several hours later.

The incident marked the second time in two years that Haddish had been arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence. Back in Jan. 2022, she was arrested in Georgia after witnesses reported seeing a driver “asleep at the wheel.” She was taken into custody and released on bail, and the case remains ongoing, with Haddish reportedly due back in court on Dec. 4.

Haddish was able to joke about the initial arrest during an appearance no The Tonight Show not long after it happened. “I’ve been praying to God to send me a new man, a good man,” Haddish told hold Jimmy Fallon. “And God went ahead and sent me four in a uniform. I wasn’t expecting it.”
