Travis Kelce Says He and Taylor Swift Block Out the ‘Outside Noise’

Travis Kelce has his head in the game as the Kansas City Chiefs prep to face the Baltimore Ravens this weekend.

During a Chiefs press conference Friday, Kelce answered a question about his relationship with Taylor Swift and said they are working together to ignore the headlines and conversations surrounding their relationship. “The only thing we’ve talked about is that as long as we’re happy we can’t listen to anything that’s outside noise,” he said.

Kelce also said he had reflected with his brother about the “challenges” that have come with the public nature of their relationship. “There are certain things that give you challenges in life that you just have to be appreciative that you’re being tested, because not everybody gets those opportunities,” he said, before adding, “I brought this upon myself, and I do enjoy having fun with it all, and the biggest thing is making sure my focus is right here in this building.”

During Wednesday’s episode of his podcast, New Heights, and without getting into extensive detail, Kelce recalled nasty comments being aimed at the team and fans booing Taylor Swift, who has been regularly attending games while dating Kelce for a few months now. But instead of engaging, Kelce threw up a heart symbol with his hands.

“Yeah, man, had to spread the love, baby. You always gotta spread that love, baby,” Kelce told his brother, Jason Kelce. Swift is known for flashing heart hands while performing her song “Fearless” live as a sweet gesture to fans.

“I just wanted to make sure [they] knew it wasn’t mutual,” he added. “I don’t hate you guys like you hate us. It’s all love, baby.”

Last year, in an interview with Time, Swift spoke briefly about the reactions her attendance at Chiefs games has caused. “I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in. There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once,” Swift said. “I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
