Royal Enfield is currently developing a couple of new motorcycles, one of which is the Himalayan 450 adventure tourer motorcycle. Recently, one of the test mules of the upcoming Himalayan 450 was involved in an accident, and images of the motorcycle have surfaced online, showing what the upcoming motorcycle will look like. As of now, there is no clarity on how the accident happened, but from the images, it appears that the motorcycle crashed from the front.
There are reports that suggest the motorcycle was being ridden recklessly, but we do not have any concrete proof to support this claim. In the accident, the front-end of the motorcycle was severely damaged. The headlamps, handlebar, and wheels were damaged, and there was liquid on the ground, indicating that the radiator was damaged too. The steel rim was also completely damaged, and it looks like the manufacturer will be offering a new set of dual-purpose tires with the Himalayan 450.

The instrument cluster is not clear in the pictures, but Royal Enfield is expected to make some changes to it. It is expected to come with a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity features. Other features noticed on the motorcycle include LED turn indicators and different levers. The brake lever on the motorcycle had a gloss black finish, while the clutch lever had a metal finish.

The upcoming motorcycle will be offered with USD forks at the front and an adjustable mono-shock at the rear. The motorcycle will come with disc brakes at both ends, and dual-channel ABS will also be offered. It is not clear whether the brand will offer switchable ABS with the adventure motorcycle. From the previous images that have surfaced online, we have an idea of how the exhaust on the Himalayan 450 would look like. The exhaust on the upcoming motorcycle looks just like the unit seen on the Scram 411. Apart from the Himalayan 450, the manufacturer is also working on a roadster motorcycle that would be using the same engine as the Himalayan 450.
Royal Enfield has been aggressively testing the Himalayan 450, and the motorcycle is expected to be launched in the market later this year. The upcoming adventure tourer motorcycle will use a 450cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that will generate around 40 bhp and 35-40 Nm of peak torque. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox with Slip-Assist clutch. The Himalayan 450 will compete with motorcycles like KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G310 GS, and Yezdi Scrambler in the segment.
