The new Tata Tigor EV also gets an extended range. It now travels 315 km, which is 9 km more than the outgoing model. The new car also comes with new features that were available only with the Nexon EV Max and Nexon EV Prime. Tata has added a multi-mode regeneration function with automatic brake lamp activation. It turns on the brake lamps as soon the driver lifts off the foot from the accelerator and the regen is activated.

Like the Nexon EV Prime and Max, the new Tigor EV gets four-level of regen braking. Level 0 has no regeneration while Level 3 has the highest regeneration. With the regen, the batteries get juiced up, especially in start-stop traffic or while going on downhill. This has increased the overall driving range of the new Tigor EV.

Other new features include cruise control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The TPMS only works with the smartphone app and there are new connectivity features for smartwatches too.

According to Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.,

“The EV industry is witnessing tremendous growth and is gaining popularity in the Indian market. With 50,000 Tata EVs on road and an 89% market share (YTD), we at Tata Motors are solely driving this shift with our extensive portfolio. The recently introduced Tiago.ev – a product launched to democratize the EV market, received a tremendous response and we are elated to announce that it has garnered over 20K bookings in just a month since its launch. In line with our New Forever philosophy, it is now time to upgrade the Tigor.ev with more tech and premium features. Our deep insights on the customer driving pattern received from the 600 million kilometers covered on Indian roads has helped us understand and deliver better efficiency and range. We are happy to present to you the new Tigor.ev with an extended range of 315km (ARAI certified) – More Tech, More Luxe, More.ev.”
