Vodafone Idea provided best indoor, outdoor voice call quality in April 2022: TRAI rankings

The data is based on the data from mobile users across India on TRAI’s own MyCall app. This includes data like feedback related to voice call quality. Vi India has got 1210 feedback, Reliance Jio has 1828 feedback, BSNL has 938 and Airtel has 697 feedback.

Separately, Vi has achieved a top 5G speed of 5.2 Gbps during the ongoing trials in Pune, Maharashtra. This is better than Vi’s previous best 5G speed of 4 Gbps. This is substantially faster than Airtel and Jio’s 5G speed. It should be noted the test was achieved on a single device and the speeds will vary vastly when the network is widely available to the public. Vi claims to have registered the speed on government allocated 5G spectrum for the trials.

The test was conducted on a combination of mid-band and high-band (mmWave) 5G trial spectrum using Ericsson Massive MIMO radios, Ericsson cloud-native dual-mode 5G core for Standalone architecture and NR-DC (New Radio-Dual Connectivity) software. Vi says that it is capable of delivering latency-sensitive and high performing applications such as 8K video streaming, AR/VR and other use cases once the 5G network is commercially rolled out.
