Volkswagen has commenced the dispatch of the Virtus sedan in a new color variant called Lava Blue to its authorized dealers. This color option has been officially listed on the Volkswagen website following its unveiling at a recent public event. With the addition of Lava Blue, the Volkswagen Virtus is now available in a total of seven color options, including Curcuma Yellow, Rising Blue Metallic, Wild Cherry Red, Reflex Silver, Carbon Steel Grey, and Candy White.
The new Lava Blue color, originally launched in the anniversary edition models of sister brand Skoda’s Slavia sedan and Kushaq SUV, will now be offered alongside the existing Rising Blue Metallic color for the Virtus sedan. Volkswagen also recently began dispatching the Taigun SUV in the same Lava Blue color to its dealers. Importantly, this new color variant does not carry any premium pricing and will be available at the same price as other color options.
Aside from the introduction of the new color, the Volkswagen Virtus remains unchanged both visually and mechanically. The sedan continues to offer a 1.0-liter three-cylinder TSI petrol engine in Comfortline, Highline, and Topline variants, as well as a more powerful 1.5-liter four-cylinder TSI petrol engine exclusively in the range-topping GT Plus variant.

Turbo-petrol engine options
The 1.0-liter TSI petrol engine delivers 115 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque and comes with a standard 6-speed manual transmission across all variants. However, the Highline and Topline variants also offer the option of a 6-speed torque converter with this engine. On the other hand, the 1.5-liter TSI petrol engine in the GT Plus variant produces 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque and is paired exclusively with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Volkswagen has confirmed that a 6-speed manual gearbox will be made available with the 1.5-liter engine in the GT Plus variant in the coming months.
In addition to the new color option, Volkswagen has introduced a minor update for the Tiguan SUV. The refreshed version now features dual-tone black and grey leather upholstery, along with new features such as wireless charging, a level-1 ADAS system with park assist, and a rear seat belt reminder alarm. The Volkswagen Tiguan is currently offered in five color options, including Nightshade Blue, Pearl Oryx White, Deep Black, Dolphin Grey, and Reflex Silver.
