If anyone can unite America it should be Dolly Parton, but social media was divided after the country music legend’s U.S. Thanksgiving halftime performance in Dallas during Thursday’s game between the Cowboys and the Washington Commanders.

Not that anyone should actually care, because whatever the 77-year-old was doing onstage was impressive enough.
The vast majority of comments online seem to believe Parton wasn’t singing live, but social media isn’t known for positivity. Others congratulated the star — who performed in a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader outfit — for a great live performance.
I… don’t understand the Dolly Parton performance. She’s lip syncing, she can’t move, and well I’ll just leave it at that.

During the broadcast, it was hard to tell whether an audio delay in Cowboy’s owner Jerry Jones’ massive AT&T Stadium was to blame or Parton was in fact clearly not belting out the hits. The legendary singer’s banter rolled right into the vocals which might give some credence to the performance being authentic.
