It was actually aimed to compete with the Yamaha RX100, but it was more aptly compared with the Yamaha RX135. The Suzuki Shogun offered a better power-to-weight ratio. The Shogun motorcycle was a project jointly developed by TVS and Suzuki in India. The motorcycle used a 108cc, two-stroke, single-cylinder engine. The engine generated 14 Bhp, which was much more than the Yamaha RX100.
The vlogger then talks about the motorcycle. He bought the motorcycle from the previous owner and made a couple of changes to it. Other than the original paint job, the motorcycle had many other parts that needed work. The motorcycle still has the original panels and stickers or graphics on it. The motorcycle originally came with spoke rims. These were replaced with alloy wheels from the Suzuki GS 150 motorcycle.
The original turn indicators on the motorcycle were probably damaged, so they had to be replaced. The motorcycle still has the original seat cover too. The owner can be heard saying in the video that it is actually quite hard to find parts for this motorcycle. As part of the restoration, he even got a disc brake installed at the front. The rear still gets drum brakes.
With the new alloy wheel setup, the speedometer cable on the Shogun was not working, and it was replaced with another unit from Honda Shine. The size of the tires is also bigger than the stock version. The engine also needed some work, and the motorcycle is now using second-over pistons. The engine on this motorcycle was also given a powder coat, as it had started to look old and was showing obvious signs of age.
The vlogger then takes the bike for a spin. The bike still has the original exhaust and even sounds the same. The classic 2-stroke engine sound actually sounds pretty good even today.
